Youth Development

We host an annual Career Day event, during which select area High School planning to pursue an education in a business field are given the opportunity to visit and shadow a business in the community.

Participating businesses host the student(s) at their business for about 2 hours, giving them an opportunity to see and experience their business operations, and to hear first hand some of the highlights (and pitfalls) of business ownership.

Businesses then sponsor their students’ attendance at a luncheon immediately following their shadowing experience, where the student is able to share some of what they saw and learned from the experience.
